Experience Summary
I am in my senior year pursuing a degree in Biology with a preprofessional emphasis. I am also pursuing a minor in Chemistry. I am currently studying for the MCAT with the intentions of applying to medical school. I am in the final two semesters of my Bachelor's degree. I strive for excellence in school. I have a 3.5 GPA. I tutor high school students and those needing to retake the Las Vegas high school proficiency exam.
Teaching Style
I love tutoring teens. I have been an independent tutor for five years now and have tutored in many subjects. I have the most experience tutoring algebra, English, biology, chemistry, and composition. I am in my final year at UNLV and I will be graduating with a Bachelor's degree in biology emphasis pre-professional studies and will be graduating in spring 2009 due to class availability. I will also have a minor in chemistry as well as a minor in English. I have tutored several teens in the Las Vegas Valley. I am currently tutoring a teen to understand basic math skills in order to pass the Nevada math proficiency test. For example, in math algebra is crucial to understanding all math subjects after it. Within algebra there are concepts that are repeated in geometry, trigonometry, and even calculus. I am dedicated to all the students that I tutor. Having the experience of being in an accelerated Math and Science program in both middle school and high school, Hyde Park's Math and Science Academy and Clark's AMSAT program, and graduating with honors, I know first hand what study habits and skills it takes to do well before graduating. It is those study habits and skills that shape how a student spends their time after high school. I am now enrolled in a rigorous major in which I have done well. I love making an impact on young peoples' lives.
