Experience Summary
Three years ago, I changed my career from being a Human Resources professional to pursue my lifelong dream of teaching school and coaching. When I was a HR professional, my niche was developing and conducting career and professional skill workshops. Over the last three years I have tried to hone my own teaching skill set by practicing it in various settings. These include, substitute teaching various grades and subjects, middle school alternative education, after-school tutoring (1st-fifth grades, middle school and high school in language arts, math, social studies and science) and evening high school classes.
Teaching Style
Teaching has always been my career dream. I feel personally fulfilled in making a positive difference in a persons life. I truly believe that every student has the potential to increase their chances of having a positive and successful career through education. I try to motivate and find what is the best way to release their untapped potential. This takes patience, foresight and an unquenching willingness to go the proverbial "extra mile." I utilize my excellent communication skills and logical approaches to develop and implement learning methods that help the student "learn how to learn," and ultimately enjoy it.
