Experience Summary
I graduated with honors from New York University and received a master's degree in secondary social studies education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Throughout my undergraduate years I worked as a tutor in elementary school classrooms and as a group leader in middle school educational summer programs. As a teacher I have worked with students ranging from pre-kindergarten age through seniors in high school, some with advanced skills who wanted to be pushed further, others who came to me performing below grade level, and some with learning disabilities.
Teaching Style
As a tutor I strive to learn about my students, and I individualize my instruction accordingly. I work to develop critical thinking skills and self-reflection, and my goals include helping students become self-motivated and independent. I am empathetic and understanding of the unique needs of each student, and am focused on helping my students each find their unique strategies for success.
