Experience Summary
I began substituting for elementary schools in Palm Beach County two years ago. At the end of the semester I worked at Kindercare Learning Centers where I organized activities and projects in addition to teaching. I then moved to the Czech Republic and took a course to became TEOFL certified. I taught English as a second language to business people, high school students and others. Now, I volunteer as a tutor for the Palm Beach Literacy Project. I teach adults reading and writing skills. I specialize in teaching English, grammar, literature, composition and more.
Teaching Style
I use a very humanistic approach to teaching because I believe that many outside factors can influence a student's learning process. Also, I try to get my students to relate to the material I am teaching them. I feel it benefits a student to know why what they are learning is important. I set high expectations for my students but I always use positive reinforcement to let them know they are capable of success.
