About Me

Experience Summary

Throughout the years, I have had many experiences in the field of education. I began my experience in the classroom as a student teacher at Syracuse University. My first assignment was a 12th grade classroom as a freshman in college. This was a very challenging, yet rewarding experience that taught me how to discipline and gain respect from my students. In the remaining years at Syracuse University, I was placed in several other student teaching classrooms from middle school to high school. I also tutored college students in Writing, English, and Spanish for 2 years. I graduated with a sense of accomplishment for what I had achieved and provided for my students. Professionally, I have worked as a high school english teacher, and as a curriculum developer in education publishing companies. This has also been rewarding because I have been given the freedom to help create what students use in the classroom. Working as a developer also improved my writing and grammar skills. I am a well rounded woman who has worked in several aspects of education.

Teaching Style

I have always been a very direct teacher. What I mean by that is I am very clear on what my goals are in a classroom from the very first day I begin. I let all of the students know what my expectations are, and what dissapoints me. I know that each child is different. I have always been willing to take the time to support those students who need extra attention, whether it be before or after school. Every student is capable of learning, but not every student is willing. Part of my job is to encourage them to choose the right path to their success.
