Experience Summary
I tutored at the Hartnell College Math Lab in topics ranging from Pre-Algebra to Calculus. I also tutored/mentored recent high school graduates and motivated them to pursue careers in math and science. I tutored Algebra at Sweetwater Union High School District as part of the Gear Up program at San Diego State. I taught Geometry and Pre-Calculus at San Diego State and prepared students for Pre-Calculus as part of the Math Academy at Hartnell College.
Teaching Style
I have always had a natural curiosity for learning Mathematics and a desire to teach others. I remember being a student in Elementary School struggling to understand a particular concept and then imagining myself explaining this concept to others once I achieved understanding. Mathematics has always been challenging for me but noticed that as long as I was persistent I always acquired knowledge of the material. I was exposed to many different math instructors and many of them motivated me to learn mathematics and inspired me to want to teach. I am very patient when I explain concepts to others and enjoy coming up with different ways of explaining these concepts.
