Experience Summary
As an undergraduate at Lake Superior College, I worked in the campus learning center. I tutored in Mathematics. I transferred my credits to the University of Minnesota where I completed my bachelors of science degree in Biology with a minor in geology. My passion is in plants and I enjoy identifying new as plants. Beyond identifying plants I enjoy learning about the habitats in which the plants thrive and the relation they have to the environment.
Teaching Style
While tutoring in the Lake Superior learning center. I enjoyed tutoring the students. I would help the student break down the math problem step by step and explain the process. I would then sit with them and encouragement them to complete the next problem on their own. If they got stuck I would give assistance, through asking them questions or trying to help them remember the mathematical steps. If all else failed I would show them the process again, slowly and in a mater that would not discourage them.
