Experience Summary
My experience as a teacher has given me the opportunity to teach math, science, history, literature, reading and writing to a very diverse group of students. These students vary in development, both academically and socially, and I adjust my delivery of instruction to meet the needs of all. I continue to work with students who function above, on and below grade level expectations and together we meet or exceed the classroom teacher’s expectations. In following Constructivist methods of instruction, we use class discussion, open ended questions and cooperative learning to facilitate a highly interactive and inquisitive classroom atmosphere.
Teaching Style
In my instruction I apply research-based strategies, theories, new techniques, and modern methods of instruction. I put a lot of thought and work in to creating my lesson plans. This can be seen in the detail that I provide on each plan. I pay careful consideration to connecting the lesson to the GLEs and EALRs and I summarize each lesson in great detail. My lesson plans are thorough, well-crafted and would enable anyone to come in and take over my class in my absence. My plans are creative, useful and each one presents an important lesson that combine innovative strategies with engaging activities. They stimulate imagination and help develop oral and written language skills.
