Experience Summary
Teaching kindergarten and second grade was my passion for 20 years.
As a classroom teacher, my students were provided with a warm,
enthusiastic classroom environment defined within a framework of high
yet achievable expectations. I've worked with students of all ability
levels. Having twice acted as a teacher-facilitator for fifth grade students
in the College for Kids summer program, I challenged students with
reading and creative writing assignments that collaborated with the
curriculum focus of the day.
Teaching Style
My classroom was defined by rules and consequences within a Love
and Logic framework. During my years as a kindergarten teacher, it
was necessary to provide students with a fun, stimulating, hands-on
approach to learning so that they enjoyed coming to school on a daily
basis. Creating the teacher/student bond is essential to achieving a
successful and productive classroom environment.
