Experience Summary
I am a graduate from the Marshall University School of Education. I earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education which has enabled me to learn a lot about Elementary curriculum as well as the skills and strategies used to teach elementary children. Throughout my education experience at Marshall I participated in many different practicum classes where I taught and tutored children in a variety of subjects. I was also required to take courses pertaining to the content knowledge of elementary school curriculum. These courses also taught me how to teach students this curriculum in a variety of different ways. I have experience teaching and tutoring math, english, social studies, and science.
Teaching Style
Through my teaching experiences I have developed a "never say die" teaching style. I am willing to try as many methods as it takes in order to help the student achieve academic success. I am very positive, encouraging, and patient when working with children. My teaching style also incorporates mostly hands on activities because I believe that when students are physically engaged in their learning they achieve a higher level of success. I am also a firm believer in the idea that all students are able to meet their potential when given the right tools to get them there. I believe that my teaching style reflects this idea because while teaching I put forth all of my effort to help the children gain success.
