Experience Summary
As an experienced educator I have had the pleasure working with children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. I have a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a Masters degree in Physical Education from Arizona State University. The core courses for these degrees included work in English, history, math and science. General education courses included work in educational psychology, child development and educational philosophy. The specialized courses included work in understanding children's physical development and how they learn motor skills, scientific aspects of physical fitness and sports, as well as effective teaching techniques and progressions for a variety of lifetime sports and fitness activities.
Teaching Style
The main point of teaching is not only for the teacher to have a good time, but also for the student. If both teacher and student can enjoy each other’s company the possibilities of how much can be learned are endless. Through my experiences, I’ve learned that individuals will work harder if they respect the person who is giving the direction. Teachers have the choice to make their class environment enjoyable, safe, and fun. If they choose not to, then it is not benefiting the child who is there to learn.
