Experience Summary
As a member of the Golden Key Honor Society in Education at Queens College in Flushing, NY I excelled at all the subjects I took pertaining to Elementary Education. I have a full awareness of the importance for structure and flow within an essay. Voice is sometimes overlooked, but is equally essential in representing the author's conviction to the subject matter of their work.
Teaching Style
After teaching for 25 years, the first and most important element of interaction between a student and a teacher is one of mutual respect. The student wants the teacher to listen to their needs and concerns, and the teacher wants to be respected for his/her wealth of knowledge through experience. This is built through patience and understanding. A personal relationship is also helpful in tutoring, more on the level of a parent or adult friend.
