Experience Summary
My passion for providing students with an excellent education has led me to 28 years of teaching experience. I hold a Bachelor's of Science in Education and a Masters of Arts in Special Education. Throughout my career, I have worked with a diverse population of students and have become proficient in designing lessons that accommodate multiple intelligences and incorporate aspects of varied cultures. I have tutored English Language Learners and have worked as a Speech Therapist, giving me insight into speech and language patterns and how to correct any deficits. I have taught students from Preschool - 6th grade. My expertise is in Reading, Writing and Language Arts.
Teaching Style
My vast experience has allowed me to perfect many different teaching styles. All children are different and there are many different ways to teach them. I like students to have hands-on learning so they can get more out of what is being taught. I believe in visuals and realia whenever possible. I think that songs and movement are very effective tools in teaching. I am a patient person with a great sense of humor that only wants to provide the best educational experience for all students.
