Experience Summary
I have a BS degree in General Biology from California State University Dominguez Hills. My emersion in the Life Sciences have afforded me the opportunity to learn and excel in several different courses ( including physics, animal and environmental biology and mathematics). I am proficient in the English language, I have been a writer and avid reader for many years, and passed the college graduate examination for reading and writing during my freshman year. In addition, I write weekly articles for an internet website. I have experience tutoring classmates in several science based subjects and proofreading papers for grammatical errors.
Teaching Style
My methods are constructive and encouraging. I start from the beginning, then progress one step at a time, eventually arriving at the finished product. A strong subject foundation will give the student more confidence and better skills to handle the harder classes they will encounter down the road., if they are currently in the harder classes, reviewing the beginning steps before conquering the latter ones would allow the student to make a smooth transition between concepts. I explain the concepts of the material in detail, work through several examples with the student, then allow them to work through it on their own while answering any questions they may have along the way.
