Experience Summary
I recently graduated University of Texas with a BA in biology. Becasuse of this I have a strong background in science. I have also been involved in biochemistry research, specifically trying to create immunocontraceptives for rodents. In order to be effective researcher it was necessary for me to fully understand important chemistry, biology and biochemistry principles. In the past I have tutored college chemistry. In a more informal setting I have tutored subjects such as genetics.
Teaching Style
I enjoy the satisfaction tutoring brings me, but the satisfaction comes when I am successful in conveying knowledge. I feel I am a successful tutor because I take the time to get to know the student and I immediately get work on the weaknesses and amplify their strengths. I believe every student has the ability to succeed, so I explain the important principles over and over through different media and methods, until the student understands. Over the years I have learnt that patience is a very important trait needed for a successful tutoring experience. Therefore, This has made me a better tutor.
