Experience Summary
From a young age, I loved to read. I was fascinated by words and how the brain processes information. I earned a degree in Psychology and upon graduation took a position in a reading clinic. I was trained in the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing Program, which remediates dyslexia. I worked one on one with students ages 4 to adult. I continued this work for ten years, during which time I also provided tutoring in writing and language arts. After this time, I was a stay at home mom, homeschooling my children. Most recently, as my children have entered public school, I have volunteered at the school, tutoring students in reading and language arts.
Teaching Style
I am a very patient person and that is reflected in the way I teach. I love working with children and find it very rewarding. I believe that every child can learn, and I strive to help each child reach his/her potential. Education is so important. My goal is to help students believe they can achieve and give them the tools to do so.
