Experience Summary
I am a veteran teacher with HQ status. I believe passion and the persistent pursuit of excellence is what distinguishes a “good teacher” from a “Highly Qualified “one. I have taught Elementary Education for 6 years and Physical Education for 6 years.
I am proficient in a variety of curriculums including, but not limited to; Lucy Calkins, Mondo, Six Traits, Investigations, 105 ELL training hours, Everyday Math, Scott Foresman, Houghton-Mifflin, Step Up To Write, DERA, DRA and Core Knowledge approach. I believe it is the different curriculums, when given in combination that allow all students to be successful. Students should be encouraged to explore and discover new ways to problem-solve and form new ideas.
Teaching Style
Throughout my teaching experience, I have taught in diverse school districts that range considerably in socio-economic backgrounds. This experience has molded me in to a compassionate, competent educator. When given quality instruction, respect and support, students will have all of the tools they need to succeed. I use a differentiated approach so that I may reach all levels of learners.
