Experience Summary
I have always been driven to excel by my passion for learning and sharing what I know. At Cornell University, I earned my BA in Classics in 3.5 years, completing the requirements for both the Latin and Ancient Greek majors independently. I also explored related topics like: History, Linguistics, Near Eastern Studies, Philosophy, Reception Studies, English, French and German. My broad-based skills set provides me with a unique grasp of the Humanities, especially reading and writing skills. For the last four years I have designed and presented courses on Leadership and Organizational Development for my Fraternity at regional conventions, along with volunteering to help other students with writing and foreign language work in school.
Teaching Style
My drive for teaching comes from my belief that any person can learn anything (and enjoy it!). My teaching philosophy strives to accomplish two goals: first, to establish a relationship between the student and the material that makes the subject fun, interesting and exciting. This ensures the active commitment of the student to the necessary work. Second, to present the material at hand in its simplest form to facilitate faster comprehension coupled with greater retention of information. No matter the subject, I look to teach the information in a way that not only builds strength in that particular area, but also fosters a love of learning and provides the tools to continue to learn more successfully in the future across curricula.
