Experience Summary
Having studied language from an early age, I discovered I had an inherent ability to process foreign tongues. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in French and French Linguistics and have studied it for over seventeen years. My trips to France are often that of assisting college students with the translational means of getting around in a foreign country.
In the past ten years, I have also added Japanese to my talents. Studying independently of schools, this self-driven study has given rise to several teaching opportunities in the libraries in the South Jersey area.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching all age ranges, from 6 to 96. Foreign Languages are a challenge for the uninitiated, and I believe generating an interest in embracing the challenge is a key component in teaching. There is a great need for learning foreign languages in the global world of today, and the best way to merge seamlessly is to learn early and/or learn often.
I believe the only foolish question is the one not asked. I encourage all students to ask immediately if there is confusion or misunderstanding and aim to answer that need in an easy-to-understand manner. I believe a language course should consist of the students speaking just as much as the teacher.
