Experience Summary
As a PhD in Chemical Engineering, I have a strong background in Math and Chemistry courses and am well qualified to teach high school and college chemistry and math courses. I taught math and chemistry courses in the college level, conceptualizing and designing courses in General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Algebra, and Geometry for undergraduate students in science and engineering field, both lecture and laboratory courses.
Teaching Style
My major objectives for student learning include: 1) to effectively impart knowledge and principles based on student background, 2) to encourage and practice critical and independent thinking, and 3) to develop effective measures to determine what the student learned.
Based on my teaching experience, I would simplify complex topics through basic examples, graphic illustrations, and analogies. I would be flexible and open to the use of new technological methods to facilitate learning such as the use of internet, electronic materials and computer softwares.
I would encourage open discussion to give the students the opportunity to express their ideas and to accommodate their questions about the subject matter.
