Experience Summary
I have been volunteering in Haiti for eight years. I am keenly aware of the challenges Haitians face in their home country. Our work involves delivering resources to help people help themselves. Specifically, our programs in Haiti teach people who are economically disadvantaged how to raise and care for livestock. In addition, however, we teach small business best practices.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is patient, low-key and respectful. I generally assume that if a student is having trouble understanding, it is my approach that needs refining. That said I believe that education is wonderful gift and is to be taken seriously. I set high expectations and expect students to be respectful and participate.
