Experience Summary
As a child my love of reading and math drove me to achieve a high level of success in education. I majored in political science in college which enabled me to fine-tune my grammatical and analytical skills while writing papers and essays. Due to my strength in mathematics, I was drawn to business and completed my MBA at an Ivy League institution. I have taught Intensive English to high school students in China; tutored students in reading, writing, mathematics and sciences; and tutored first-year MBA students in various subject areas while I was a second-year MBA student.
Teaching Style
I have a passion for learning and I transfer that passion to my students. I pay close attention to what the student says and how he/she acts to help me identify any roadblocks such as math or reading anxiety. I ensure my actions and words communicate to the student that my job is to help him/her achieve academic success. I am very skilled at explaining “complex” materials in manageable units that enable the student to grasp each concept and skill. I am very patient and flexible and will explain the material in several different ways to relate to the student’s learning style. My goal is to make a difference in all my students' lives so they can realize the academic success they were meant to achieve.
