Experience Summary
I am currently in my last semester of my Masters program at St. John’s University and will have my New York State Initial certification in K-6 by May 2011.As a student teacher in the first and fourth grade classrooms, I have been able to utilize and build upon the courses taken as part of my education. I was able to design and implement my own lesson plans, as well as modify to meet the needs of all students. From this experience I have been able to further develop instruction for both groups and individuals in reading and math. Prior to my student teaching I was a teaching assistant in a preschool for students with disabilities.
Teaching Style
I believe each child learns in their own way. Therefore, differentiated instructional strategies are important in helping each child become as successful as possible. It is important for children to feel comfortable and motivated to learn. There is no better feeling than knowing you a part of a child's success.
