Experience Summary
From the start of my professional career I have been drawn to the education and edification of others, in particular the youth. I feel I have an intrinsic ability to understand them and motivate them to see the bigger picture in their life. My own education and years of experience in education have equipped me with the skills and drive to help my student's reach their full potential and goals.
My college education was never 'standard' but guided the development of my exceptional writing skills and tone. In addition to completing my bachelor degrees, my experience of living and teaching abroad in The Netherlands broadened my understanding of the world and its many cultures. There, I not only learned to speak but teach in Dutch.
Teaching Style
My love for teaching is inclusive of all learners of all ages. Given that personal motivation is the key to true learning, I consistently strive to seek out and direct my student's interests through thoughtful questions and discussion. All the while I try to tailor my student's interests to meet the needs of their required course work. My questions can be described as both creative and thought-provoking.
I never sacrifice intrinsic learning for the ease of 'busy work.' I always strive for simplicity and straight-forwardness in my instruction. I know at some level everyone has a personal desire to learn. I am most knowledgeable in earth/space science, basic mathmatics, and social siences.
