Experience Summary
I have tutored a wide variety of students for 14 years, ranging from high-level executives and business professionals to students from the elementary to community college level. The reason my students have nominated me for a teaching award is because of the fun, inspiring learning environment I create to build each individual's confidence with learning. My BA degree in Spanish/French is from Santa Clara University and my MA in Teaching English as a Second Language is from San Francisco State University. I have been published in English and Spanish, and provided workplace communication training at Sun Microsystems, Boston Scientific, Affymax, the Gap and National Semiconductor.
Teaching Style
I was featured in an article in the San Jose Mercury News because of the hands-on approach I take to addressing my students' learning needs. I customize my teaching materials to each individual and use a wide variety of techniques to address different learning styles. I keep instruction varied and lively, using visual aids, music and interactive activities to involved students in the learning process. When students master skills and knowledge, it empowers them and opens their horizons to new challenges. That is what I love most about teaching.
