Experience Summary
I have fifteen years of classroom teaching experience, including eight years of teaching Advanced Placement English. Additionally, I have served as a Reader for the Advanced Placement English Language and English Literature Exams. I have taught students from 6th to 12th grade, across all ability levels and have experience teaching literature analysis, research papers, essays of all types, creative writing, and reading comprehension techniques.
Teaching Style
I thoroughly enjoy teaching and believe that all students can be successful and learn. I consider it my responsibility to reach each and every student, to present material in a relevant manner, and to involve students in their own discovery and learning processes. I use a variety of techniques and methods, including activities, projects, and discussions to engage students in learning. One of my greatest strengths as a teacher is my positive rapport with students; I respect them as young learners, believe in them and their abilities, and genuinely enjoy working with them each day. I have found that they respond positively to that energy and enthusiasm and their successes reflect that.
