Experience Summary
I began my education career in Special Education working with students diagnosed with an emotional disturbance. After five years I went into administration as a principal of a private school that provided the same type of services for students with an emotionally disturbance.
After working with in the same area for seven years I change the direction of my speciality and focused on all students needing support in the general education setting. I served as a special education coordinator for the Kirkwood School District's five elementary school. This included but not limited to supervising teachers, creating academic programing, modifying curriculum, and creating individualized educational programs for students.
Teaching Style
I believe every child has a right to an education and to be educated in an environment that is nurturing and conducive to their individual learning style. As a teacher it is my responsibility to determine what that style is and continuously analyze to ensure that it's working. A teachers responsibility goes further than just delivering content. There is an art to the delivery and the delivery means little if the information is not retained. Through a series of measurement, data collection, and analysis of a students knowledge, this ensures that I am delivery the curriculum in a manner that is conducive to the child's learning.
