Experience Summary
I am a graduate of a private small private college with a high standard of academic excellence. I balanced my school work with playing college volleyball, therefore I know what it takes to be dedicated and work hard. I hold a bachelor's degree in History as well as teaching certification in the Montessori Method for ages 3-6 yrs. I have certification in Southern Appalachian Ecology earned from the Tremont Institute of the Great Smokey Mountians.
I have been a primary teacher at a Montessori school for the last 5 years, as well as tutoring in reading and math for children in kindergarten and first grade.
Teaching Style
I believe the best way to help a child learn is to, "follow the child". I try to let the child find his own answers and simply be a cataylst between the materials and the child. It is in this way the child gains confidence and independence through the learning process.
I am patient, laid back, and passionate about education. I find great joy in seeing my students become excited about their studies. I like to help my students think outside the box and be creative with their ideas.
