Experience Summary
I am certified K-12 in ESL and childhood education 1-6 certification, along with training in gifted education. However, over the years I have worked with all ages including adults in paid and voluntary positions. As an ESL teacher, I have worked teaching and guiding children and their parents. I hold a Master’s degree in Education, with my thesis being a study on the effects of having fun while learning effecting reading skills. I was able to complete a study on this, which showed significant gains in the children’s reading.
Teaching Style
I am a relaxed teacher who believes that every student learns differently and the tutor needs to deliver assistance in a way that makes sense to the student. I like to make learning fun and will often inject humor into the lesson. I am also a storyteller by personality, and will often make connections to the material for students to help the learing have more meaning.
