About Me

Experience Summary

Currently I have a BA in History/Education from St. Leo University and a Masters in Educational Technology (Online Learning) from American Intercontinental University; my specialty lies in American, European and World History as well as how to use and manage online distance learning. I am a retired LTC US Army who spent most of his career in operations and training; teaching and mentoring young men and women, I spent two years as a Assistant Professor of Military Science at FIT University in Florida. Currently tutoring SES students with the No Child Left Behind in both reading and Math. Also I have been tutoring a college student in intermiate Algebra.

Teaching Style

First off I approach learning with a degree of understanding for the student, I have found not all students learn at the same pace and have the same strengths and weakness. I like to build the strengths and bring up the weakness. A student must want to learn and to take ownership with his or her educational career no matter what the degree is in. I like to think, I can bring to table the confidence the student needs to make a difference in the way they learn. Thus at the end of our tutoring sessions these skills learned can carry over to other subjects the students pursuance of a higher education.

My Hobbies

In my spare time I enjoy reading and visiting historical sites here in the United States; in addition I enjoy reading up on new teaching techniques for middle and high school math; in this way I can stay in tune with what is going on in the classroom today. I am also a avid plastic model builder of WWII aircraft and ships. In addtion I love my "N" scale model railroading.
