Experience Summary
I am a bilingual speaker of Japanese and English. For the past seven years I have been employed as an English High School teacher in Tokyo, grades seven through nine, and I have found this experience to be not only challenging and exciting, but also extremely rewarding. Since I have relocated here in Minnesota permanently, I am now teaching my native language Japanese. I have obtained the Japanese teaching certificate through the remote course in Australia last year, and now I have started tutoring in private.
Teaching Style
I like to interact with people from different backgrounds from children to adults. My experience in Japan as a teacher at three public secondary school was extremely challenging but also exciting and rewarding. I am very friendly, patient and considerate. I emphasize the value of integrity and respect different cultures and people's background. As I believe the culture and society are strongly attached to the language acquisition,I would like to teach the culture of Japan as well to support the language acquisition.
