Experience Summary
As a student at Sonoma State University I spent a semester being a teachers assistant and then was hired in the outreach office. For three years I worked as a college rep for the university. I went around and spoke to students at high schools and attended college fairs at both high schools and community college. When schools came to visit the university I assisted with giving them a tour of the campus as well as an admissiona and records presentation. I am very familar with the CSU system as a whole.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is to find how the students connect to the material and tie that into the material so that the student finds ways to remember the information in their own way. I also like to find fun ways to present the information so that it is not all lecturing but interaction between me and the student. I feel and believe that if you can teach the material to someone else than you know the information yourself. It also helps students identify where they are struggling with the information.
