Experience Summary
For the past fifteen years I have worked part-time for the West Allis School District as a substitute teacher and then a tutor. Previously I homeschooled and in my early years taught at Northern Center, an institution for cognitively disabled individuals in Chippewa Falls, WI. I've tutored elementary and highschool students; some with major emotional problems and learning disabilities. I'm most comfortable tutoring elementary level subjects or upper level English.
Teaching Style
I love to work one on one with a student or in a small group setting. I especially enjoy working with students with learning disabilities because it allows you to think outside the box and come up with methods that will open up the brain and enable material to sink in that had previously been a mystery. I believe that very few people have ever reached their potential and its a privilege to see students break through to another level. Tutoring is a great privilege and its something I love to do.
