Experience Summary
I am a certified teacher with 16 years experience. I have a BA in Elementary Education, and a MA in Education with a major in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught students in all subject areas including technology. Additionally, I have tutored students independently through the years in the areas of reading, phonics, writing, comprehension, fluency, algebra I and general math.
Teaching Style
My teaching philosophy is that all students are entitled to a well-rounded education. I believe that all children can learn and succeed at their level. I utilize a variety of teaching methods and strategies to enable students to reach their success levels. My teaching ensures that whatever learning style the student best succeeds at that those types of methods are implemented. I believe that students need to take ownership of their learning through discovery and guidance, and I give them the confidence via taught skills to achieve this.
