Experience Summary
I have gained a very high level of education at top-ranked universities where I excelled academically. I graduated with a BBA from Emory and recently graduated with an MBA from New York University, a top-10 MBA program. I scored in the 97th percentile on the GMAT, the graduate admission exam for MBAs that tests both quant and verbal skills, including a perfect score on the writing section. My work in the capital markets for 3 years, along with my focus on finance at NYU, provide a strong math background (finance is very much rooted in algebra, calculus, and statistics). I have also written several business plans, which require extremely strong written communication skills, for my own business, in an academic setting, and as a consultant.
Teaching Style
I have always enjoyed mentoring children. I started coaching youth soccer when I was 17. While at Emory I coached a U-13 club soccer team and I was asked by parents to tutor some of the players off the field. While I worked in finance I volunteered in the International Telementor Program, which allowed me to provide online tutoring to children from all over the country. I helped 8 – 15 year olds with book reports, career presentations, writing assignments, amongst others, and provided general life guidance when needed. As a coach and mentor, I understand each child is unique and learns in his/her own way. I will adapt my teaching style accordinlgy, but make sure they are engaged and learning, not just having information thrown at them.
