Experience Summary
I have experience working with elementary and college students.
I was a kindergarten and second grade classroom volunteer for 8 years at Woodford Paideia and Eastwood Paideia schools in Cincinnati, Ohio. I worked one-on-one with the students administering tests, helping with class work, reading to students, as well as grading assignments and compiling homework assignments.I Helped students mostly in areas of math and reading.
I also have experience as a teaching assistant at the University of Cincinnati for an undergraduate English course. I held office hours, taught lectures, facilitated discussions, and graded assignments.
Teaching Style
I believe that all children are capable of academic success. However, I also know that learning does not happen in a vacuum. Therefore, I place a great priority on developing rapport with my students and appreciating where they are in their educational process. It's important to meet the students where they are but to also push them to even greater academic success. Only by having high expectations will the students strive to achieve.
