Experience Summary
During and after earning my degree, I spent almost nine years working in healthcare as a medical assistant, teaching patients in a one on one environment. Most recently I was an Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor. I have given training presentations to groups from as small as three to as large as sixty. During this school year, I have worked as a substitute teacher for Calvary Christian Academy.I was involved in 4-H for 9 years. Through that opportunity I was instilled with a passion for community service. I have also volunteered as co-leader of church youth group and for the past two years worked as a helper in the classes for ages 10-13 in the AWANA Club at Calvary Baptist Church in Ozark.
Teaching Style
Trust between the student and teacher is a foremost priority. I provide an encouraging environment and work to establish a relationship with each child. Each individual is unique and requires a set of modifications to engage them in the subject. Finding a commonality with each student and striving to understand life from their perspective is key to being a successful teacher. Children are naturally curious about the world around them. I strive to see the world as they do in order to better understand how to communicate with them. I believe that education is essential to discovering self purpose. I love to celebrate the small victories that come from accomplishing each task.
