Experience Summary
Tutoring experience: I started tutoring when I was pursuing Bachelors in Science majoring in Math. I taught a variety of students of age group from 5 to 17. I taught Arithematic, Numbers theory, Pre- Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, English, Hindi, and Gujarati. Through my teaching experience, I have become keenly aware of my strengths in teaching: motivating students using various methods, conveying my strong content knowledge, crafting instructional activities to best fit the needs of students, and accommodating for all students' individual differences.
Teaching Style
My tutoring style is described as follows:
1) I encourage learning by doing
2) I encourage learning by thinking: By interpreting ideas, sythesizing and analysing them and by critical revision of those ideas
3) I encourage students to reflect on their learning
4) I give precise instructions to my students: On what students should do, ways and methods for learning, resources they should use for learning.
5) I pack necessary knowledge and transfer it to students in most efficient ways: I prefer to use visual aids, demonstrate practical examples, write resources (summaries,extracts) for my students.
To sum up, I would do whatever it takes a tutor to help students learn.
