Experience Summary
As a college graduate, I have been a driven individual to achieve my goal in the teaching industry. I currently have a degree in Chemistry. With this degree, I have mentored high school juniors and seniors, assisted in mathematic classes and used some of the techniques in my classroom. I am working on my Master of Art in Education. I plan to be a college professor in the years coming.
In addition to my math and science skills, I have assisted my elementary school students with reading and writing during an after school program that was offered in the DC Public School System. This program allowed students to get ahead of their current learning level.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is to be very patient with the students. They are in a learning process for a difficult subject that the student is trying to master. Making the environment a comfortable environment so the student can move forward with their progressing in the subject is vital. For example, for my elementary students, I created games to keep their interest. The attention span of children can become really short when it comes to subjects they do not understand.
All in all, ensuring that the student is comfortable in the learning environment is the best environment for one to endure.
