Experience Summary
In 2009, I graduated from Wesleyan University with two bachelors degrees, a BA in Government and a BA in Music. In combining two drastically different fields of study, I was able to develop a level of versatility and perspective that will serve me quite well as a tutor. One unifying theme in both disciplines is the necessity of strong reading and writing skills, which I believe I will be particularly adept in teaching.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching students who are eager to improve their skills. I am very good at easing the anxiety that many students feel when faced with unsatisfactory grades while presenting information in a simple and approachable tone. I believe that most academic problems are the result of a breakdown in the fundamental skill set that students are expected to have. As a result, I find that working slowly and methodically to evaluate each necessary skill is the best approach.
