Experience Summary
As a graduate from the University of the Pacific, I was able to attain the honor of Magnum Cum Laude while pursuing my BA in Psychology. The extensive research required in my field has allowed me to achieve a high level of writing skills, analytical skills, and math skills. For the past four years I have more specifically enjoyed being able to tutor students with mathematical difficulties, although I have also tutored in grammar, writing, and Spanish.
Teaching Style
Over the years I have been able to work with all ages ranging from preschoolers to adult students. What has struck me most is the vast array of learning styles. I take pride in my ability to successfully and effectively adapt to each and every student I mentor. My strong belief in all students to do well has been the greatest influence in my overall teaching style. I do not give the answer to a problem or show the student how to do it. In order to truly attain and retain the information the material must be presented in a way that enables the learner to arrive at the answer him or herself. From this, there is no doubt in my mind that an impact will be made.
