Experience Summary
I hold a K-12 Multiple Subjects credential with supplemental authorizations in math, physical science, and general science. I also have a BA in Psychology and I have taken many math and physics classes. I am also a published writer. For the past five years I have taught Algebra I and Physical Science at a charter school. I have also tutored Algebra II and Geometry as a mentor for students taking on-line courses.
Although I do not have a credential to teach French, I am fairly fluent and I have taught beginning French for the past 4 years at the same charter school. I studied French in both high school and college and I travel to France almost every year.
Teaching Style
I am most proud of my ability to mitigate math anxiety. I think children learn best in a positive affective environment where they are encouraged to achieve at their highest potential. In math, the applications are often the discovery and I share the excitement of my students when they arrive at their goals. I love math and I love working with middle school age children.
