Experience Summary
Biology is a science that is dynamic and includes continues reading and research. I studied Biology and received my bachelors of Science at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.I became a Teaching Assistant my junior year for an introductory level biology class which helped me understand the learning experience on a different level.I have experience with teaching basic mathematics relating to biology and chemistry laboratory work. I have taken college level math classes ranging from statistics to calculus which has helped me understand various mathematical concepts.I have limited experience tutoring French but have a good understanding of the grammar and vocabulary of the language.
Teaching Style
I believe learning and knowledge is gained through careful deduction and observation. Certain material often from the onset might seem unreachable , however a good teacher will find several different ways to link information that initially might not seem related to help the student gain a better understanding of the material. I do not believe in memorization of countless facts, i believe in the understanding of core principles and information that allows an individual to observe and make their own conclusions about the material being taught. This information is then compared side by side with solid facts;doing so, a new form of understanding and learning emerges.
