Experience Summary
As a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, I have developed refined skills in the fields of mathematics and science. I have also developed exceptional writing and public speaking skills through the reporting and presentation of research projects. I also have many years of experience tutoring various subjects such as mathematics, physics, writing and economics privately, as well as teaching physics workshops in college level physics. I have also been appointed to plan and coordinate a mathematics and science program for Destiny Family Christian Center. Of all the subjects I have tutored I have never had a student fail, and students have always shown improvement in the tutored subject area.
Teaching Style
I believe that education is built from the foundation up. In the first tutoring session, I evaluate the student to see whether or not all the fundamentals of the subject area have been effectively taught to the student. Once the student shows a firm understanding of the basics, I then build on this foundation so they may catch up to and excel in the current subject area. In addition to providing tutelage in the specific area, I believe in developing good study habits and work ethic, which facilitates excellence in every subject area. Through assessing the student and exercising patience, I have maintained an excellent track record of successful tutoring.
