Experience Summary
After closing my small business I want to indulge my passion as an educator. Directly out of college I accepted a position as Math teacher at a private school, teaching different levels of mathematics to 7th & 8th grade students. The courses touched on the basic concepts in subjects such as; Algebra, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics and Intro to Calculus.
I left academia to pursue a business career but I continued to work with kids. I taught in the Junior Achievement program at a local high school, I tutored individuals, and I spent many years coaching soccer at the middle school level.
Teaching Style
I think kids are great. The time I spend coaching a group of teenagers energizes me. I find the key to each child’s personality and try to connect with them individually. I like to joke and have fun with them. My style is casual on the surface but makes for an enjoyable experience. Kids look forward to my time with them and they leave having learned much more than they realized. Learning can be and should be fun. Everyone enjoys success and achievement.
My education and experience have given me a myriad of first hand experiences and situations which I use in the teaching process.
