Experience Summary
I currently hold a BA in Human Communication with a concentration in the Single Subject Waiver in English, which has provided me with the experience necessary to tutor in reading, writing, literature, and technology. I've worked for a year as a Notetaker for several disabled college students, volunteered 70+ hours as a teacher's aide for elementary school students, volunteered 30+ hours as a teacher's aide for high school students, and worked for a year and a half as an Instructional Student Assistant in a college environment for Computer Science and Information Technology. These instances have allowed me to tutor and mentor students of all ages, diverse cultural backgrounds, and abilities.
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with students, regardless of their age or capabilities. I am a patient and understanding individual who strives to provide what students need to succeed. My method revolves around helping students find their own voice, to question and think for themselves, and to guide them in discovering and making decisions of their very own. Individuality is key for success in a students' education. I also incorporate the prior knowledge and background experiences students have to further their understanding of the world around them, as well as their education.
