I completed my undergraduate degree in Dramatic Arts in 2011. I have directed several theatrical production and dramatic scenes. Additionally, I have worked 1 on 1 with many students on dramatic pieces and monologues for auditions and competitions. I have always found that the first and often most important thing a teacher can do is find the obstacles to learning that we all suffer from and seek ways to remove them. These may be the so called "blocks" that may develop after negative early experiences, preconceptions about the subject, or simply lack of confidence. Replacing resistance with enthusiasm and interest, and then providing expert guidance can then lead to acheivement.

I passed the Praxis for both of those subjects spring of 2010. I was not able to get a full time teaching position this year. I went back to working for myself but would love to tutor. I understand that any child can run into problems with schoolwork. I try to find out why the child is having a problem before trying to help them. Did he miss something and fall behind? Is she simply bored with the subject? The approach I take with the child depends on the answers to these questions. I feel it is important for the learner to understand that there is a reason for making the effort to learn each subject.
