I believe that the basics (technique) is very important. It is the foundation for all forms of dance.
I have been dancing since the age of three. I received my early training from LaGrange School of Ballet in LaGrange, GA. I have training and teaching experience in classical ballet, jazz, modern dance, hip-hop, praise dance, and lyrical. I received a B.A. in Dance Performance from the University of Alabama in 2004. Past performances include The Nutcracker, Coppelia, Cinderella, Hairspray, and Chicago to name a few. I am the past resident choreographer/senior instructor for Ballet on Wheels in Memphis, TN.

I am very flexible in my teaching style and have helped students who learn in very different ways. While I was working with the Reading by the River program I worked with four different students each of which learned in very different ways. From this I learned at a very early time in my life that it is crucial to cater to each individual students needs. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very strong believer of hands-on learning. I do reference textbooks as well, but the majority of my lessons involve labs, projects, and hands on experiences. My lessons are always references to real life situations and students understand how the daily lesson applies to their own lives. I enjoy teaching students and seeing the "light go on" when suddenly the understand a concept that was at one time very obscure to them. I am a patient and loving teacher and all of my students are taught with respect and treated with respect. When my students leave the room, they not only understand their daily lessons, but more about themselves, which allows them to become more productive citizens.
