I have been dancing since the age of three. I received my early training from LaGrange School of Ballet in LaGrange, GA. I have training and teaching experience in classical ballet, jazz, modern dance, hip-hop, praise dance, and lyrical. I received a B.A. in Dance Performance from the University of Alabama in 2004. Past performances include The Nutcracker, Coppelia, Cinderella, Hairspray, and Chicago to name a few. I am the past resident choreographer/senior instructor for Ballet on Wheels in Memphis, TN.
I believe that the basics (technique) is very important. It is the foundation for all forms of dance.

When I was in 7th and 8th grade I participated in America Reads where I helped teach elementary children how to read. In college I assisted with my church youth group and led classes approximately once a month for two years. During 2010 I volunteered with a Kindergarten class. I assisted the students with in-class assignments in writing and math. I hold a bachelors degree in accounting with a minor in vocal performance. I also studied German during this time. I have completed 17.5 semester hours towards a masters degree in liberal studies with a focus in international business and German. I am currently working on my MBA and plan to complete it in December of 2012.

I am a very strong believer of hands-on learning. I do reference textbooks as well, but the majority of my lessons involve labs, projects, and hands on experiences. My lessons are always references to real life situations and students understand how the daily lesson applies to their own lives. I enjoy teaching students and seeing the "light go on" when suddenly the understand a concept that was at one time very obscure to them. I am a patient and loving teacher and all of my students are taught with respect and treated with respect.
