A Little Bit About Me...

While working with an adult native Spanish speaker to improve her English was certainly rewarding, my desire has always been to work with children or adolescents, as I feel that they are more amenable to an educational program and have a greater learning capacity when given the proper opportunities. My teaching style is one of constant progression, in which the student's strengths and weaknesses are weighed and an appropriate lesson plan formed based on his/her abilities. A Little Bit About Me...

I have learned that the best way to teach is to let the student know how much you enjoy the subject and then work to make them feel the same way. I also know that you cannot predict what methods will be best for all people. I prepare extensivesly with sample tests, worksheets, as well as fun learning activities. When it comes to the tutoring session, I am not uptight about my style, I can sense when a method is or is not working and then use any or all of the methods that help the student retain the knowledge. When that happens, you know that there will not be much of a need for you anymore, but it is a great feeling to help someone enjoy learning as much as I do personally.

I LOVE teaching. I enjoy working with students and helping them see something new or understand a concept they are studying in class. Spanish and teaching are my passions. I think teaching - AND learning - should be fun, clear, concise and comprehensible.
I have taught Spanish and English in the high school setting since 1996.
